Patchwork

I was looking for a reason to use my matte top coat, it’s nice to have a different finish for a change, so  I thought a fabric patchwork would work really well.

I stuck to pink/purple tones to match my outfit but I think it would look pretty good in any colour really.  It’s also pretty simple to recreate on both hands seeing as you can be free to experiment with patterns and every nail can be different. I just used a combination of a striping brush and a dotting tool for my designs and picked a few polishes that complemented each other.

Valentine’s ‘Love Heart’ theme

It’s Valentine’s Day today so I thought I should do something love themed.

These are fairly easy to do, I started with a base coat and then used white acrylic paint for the full nail. I freehanded the hearts and text with a small nail brush using acrylic paint and sealed it with a top coat.

I decided to do my feature nails (thumb and ring finger) with very small hearts and the other nails have larger ones.

The most difficult part of this manicure is definitely the text so the smaller the brush is the easier it will be. I also found it rather difficult to do on my right hand because of the text so I will post something that’s easy to do on your non dominant hand as well.

Apologies about the messy top coat, mine has gone rather gloopy! Just waiting for my Seche Vite to arrive so hopefully my next mani will look a lot better!
